Silver Spring, MD - The American Nurses Association (ANA) Enterprise Institute for Nursing Research and Quality Management seeks public comment on the Re-Imagining the Economic Value of Nursing Summit Summary Report. The deadline for comments is September 13, 2024, at 10pm ET.

The spring summit brought together a diverse array of experts and policy influencers to chart a visionary path toward recognizing, measuring, and leveraging the economic value of nursing within the complexities of the US health care system.

The summit marked a major milestone in the two-year Economic Value of Nursing Research Project, aimed at creating and testing a conceptual model for the Economic Value of Nursing. Led by internationally recognized nursing research authorities, Dr. Olga Yakusheva and Dr. Marianne Weiss, the commissioned project seeks to increase the visibility of nursing's significant contribution to the global healthcare economy.

Key discussions during the summit focused on advancing research efforts to enhance the visibility and impact of nurses' economic value to health care systems, payors, and the public. Additional conversations centered on developing new methodologies to measure nursing's economic value and the advantages of investing in nursing, informing future research and bolstering the profession's growth.

The ANA Enterprise now calls on stakeholders, including health care professionals, policymakers, researchers, and the public, to review and provide feedback on the summit's summary report. This input is crucial for refining strategies discussed and ensuring those strategies effectively support the nursing profession.
