About Us
The ANA Enterprise leverages the combined strength of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation), to empower nurses everywhere.
In 2016, the cohesive ANA Enterprise was formed to drive excellence in practice and ensure that policy leaders, industry influencers, and employers around the country recognize nurses’ voice and vision.
Moving nursing forward
Every day, nurses adapt and evolve to face new challenges in modern health care, and the ANA Enterprise is doing the same. Through the united activities of our three entities, nurses are comprehensively supported today, tomorrow, and for the future.
From advocating at the highest levels of policymaking, to setting the optimum credentialing standards, to funding the best nursing research – with the ANA Enterprise championing nursing interests across the board, every nurse is encouraged to become the best nurse that they can be.
How ANA Enterprise impacts you
As a nurse, what does the ANA Enterprise mean to you? Through working as one organization, we promote the health, safety, and wellness of nurses in all practice environments; and provide the resources, information, and network that you need to excel in your own practice.

The values of our 3 entities:
The American Nurses Association
Representing the interests of the nation’s 4 million registered nurses, ANA is the voice of U.S. nursing. ANA advances the profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting a safe and ethical work environment, bolstering the health and wellness of nurses, and advocating on health care issues that affect nurses and the public. ANA is at the forefront of improving the quality of health care for all.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center
ANCC promotes excellence in nursing and health care globally through its credentialing programs. ANCC’s internationally renowned credentialing programs certify and recognize individual nurses in specialty practice areas. ANCC also recognizes health care organizations that promote nursing excellence and quality patient outcomes while providing safe, positive work environments.
The American Nurses Foundation
The Foundation is the philanthropic entity of ANA Enterprise, investing in all aspects of nursing by funding programs that support the profession — raising the bar and empowering nurses to transform health care and improve lives.
Through working as one organization, we promote the health, safety, and wellness of nurses in all practice environments; and provide the resources, information, and network that you need to excel in your own practice.
