ANCC 2024 Call for Commission Members

On behalf of the ANCC Board of Directors, the Nominations Committee issues this call for qualified nominees for appointment to seats on the Commission on Accreditation in Nursing Continuing Professional Development (COA-NCPD), Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs (COA-PTP), Commission on Magnet® (COM), and Commission on Pathway to Excellence® (COPE), which serve as the governing bodies for their respective ANCC programs.

  • All open commission seats require applicants to be an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) unless otherwise noted.
  • All open commission seats are for four-year terms beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028, unless otherwise noted.

The annual call is open until 11:59pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2024. You may submit a nomination for more than one commission; however, appointees may only serve on one commission at a time.

 Commission on Accreditation in Nursing Continuing Professional Development (COA-NCPD)

  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is an Emerging Leader.
    • An Emerging Leader on the COA-NCPD is a registered nurse who has two years or less of experience in nursing continuing professional development from an ANCC accredited provider.
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2026; not eligible for re-appointment to the Emerging Leader seat
  • Two (2) seats open for a representative from a healthcare organization with responsibility or experience in clinical nursing.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual working in or representing a nursing specialty organization.
  • One (1) seat for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is an APRN and a content expert in nursing continuing professional development and joint accreditation from an accredited organization.
  • One (1) seat for a non-nurse consumer/public member with knowledge and skills relevant to the work of the Commission, does not have to be an ANA member.

Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs (COA-PTP)

  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is an APRN faculty member.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a RN Fellowship Program Director from an accredited program.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is an APP Program Director (PA or APRN) from an accredited program.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a RN Nurse Residency Program Director from an accredited program with 20 or more sites.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a Non-Acute Care Program Director from an accredited program.

Commission on Magnet® (COM)

  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a registered nurse currently serving in a clinical nurse position and involved in patient care and committee work.
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a Magnet Program Director.
  • One (1) seat open for a registered nurse with significant professional experience and responsibility for managing a patient care unit or department.

Commission on Pathway to Excellence® (COPE)

  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is working in Academe/Education.
  • One (1) seat open for an Individual of foreign residence or with international experience, does not have to be an ANA Member.
  • One (1) open seat for an individual who possesses expertise in the field of workforce well-being, specifically within healthcare or healthcare-related setting and has in-depth knowledge of current research, evidence-based practices, and emerging trends to enhance well-being outcomes.
